A Theology based on a Loving God

November 24, 2023

Rev. Rohr’s theology is popular with many of my Lutheran pastor friends, and I can see why.

Before reading In Search of the Universal Christ, I reread Daniel Erlander’s very accessible book, Baptized We Live, about his vision of the Lutheran faith as a way of teaching, worshiping, and living, and I can certainly see that what Paul Chimzar has written and Erlander’s writing are in a high level of agreement, especially with faith as ELCA Lutherans try to practice it. And, lately, I have seen posts from pastor friends quoting Rohr or commenting positively on his theology, which is very interesting, now that this book has introduced me to Rohr’s work. This book describes a spiritual journey, and many of us fellow-travelers may benefit from seeing the positive possibilities that Chimzar describes. My next step will be to investigate my enneagram number and see where that leads me.
