My First Book Launch Party

I hosted my first book launch party on October 19, 2023. The event was held at Rod Ough’s and Hang Koi’s house in Woodbury, Minnesota. Rod and Hang co-hosted the event with me.  Thirteen family and friends attended.  As guests  arrived, they were asked to make a nametag and sign a photo/video release form. Each of them were given In Search of the Universal Christ bookmark, depiction card, business card and raffles tickets. For the raffle, each guest was given one ticket and an additional ticket if they purchased a book. The raffle prizes were a contemplation prayer kit and two smartphone mini-stands.

The kitchen was set up to offer wine, beer or  water to the guests. A nice table of hors d’oeuvre were available for guests to munch on. I greeted and mingled with the guests throughout the event.

After all the guest arrived, I gave a short talk and book reading. I shared a picture and demonstrated how people can see and interpret the picture differently based on their perspective. I went to share parallels between the picture and my paradigm shift in my beliefs. I further went on to share my paradigm shift from being born with original sin to being born with original goodness. After my presentation, I opened it up for questions. I felt that people were opened and engaged to what I said.

Next, it was time to celebrate! The cake was cut and dished out. The cake was a marble cake with whip cream frosting. During this time, I gave guests an  opportunity to buy my book and have me sign it.  I sold several books.

After the book signing, we conducted the raffle. Jasper, my grandson, was the raffle drawer. The contemplation prayer kit went to Martha E. One mini-stand went to Clay H. and the other was Sue D.

After the raffle, guests started to leave. I and my co-hosts thanked them for coming and celebrating with me. I felt that my first book launch party was a success. I am motivated to do more book signing events.
